Build a local support network of parents with neurodiverse children, whilst empowering yourself with the latest knowledge, tools and skills to enhance connection, calm and resolution across your family.

I know what it’s like to feel lost in how to help your child. I spent years knowing my son was different, but never finding a way to consistently connect, particularly in his most difficult moments. Never really understanding his neurodiverse world, or even that he had a neurodiverse world at first.
I spent 6 years trying to find the best way to connect with and support my son. I tried all the wrong techniques advised by the “experts” first. With every method and technique that didn’t work it deepened the disconnect with my son, damaged our relationship and increased his meltdowns, I became disheartened.
I felt like I had failed my son, seeing him struggle instead of flourish broke my heart every day. I don’t want this for you.
If this is where you are now with your child, I understand that sense of grieving and longing for the ability to connect, find joy in parenting and know you’re equipped with the knowledge and tools to successfully support your child, particularly in their big emotions. It feels like a daily battle.
I want you to know, you’re not alone and you’re not crazy! I’ve been where you are, I’ve spent years researching and re-educating myself in the latest scientific research and have found the key elements that were holding us back from achieving the connection, happiness and family life we’d dreamed of.
Taking this new approach has built my son’s ability to effectively express and vocalise how he feels and what he needs. It’s built (and continues to build) his emotional intelligence and regulation, his ability to problem solve, and communicate his needs in a way that can be heard by others.
Having seen the massive impact on my own son and family, I started working with other parents, teachers and school leaders, supporting them to learn the same tools to use in the challenges they were facing. It had a similar effect on them.
Now I want to share the secret with you in this series of workshops, based in North Manchester. These are designed to give you the base line knowledge, tools and skills to positively change yours, your child’s and your family’s life when you implement what you learn.

Testimonials
"I've been blown away by the impact this training has had on me. Kathryn creates a wonderful safe space for learning, she brings such warmth and empathy and real learned experience of the full potential impact of all the tools and strategies she shares."
Abby Taylor, Stockport
“Before, I had a feeling of a total loss of ideas on how to help my son. There were quite a few significant lightbulb moments. For me, the biggest takeaway by far was a sense of renewed hope and enthusiasm to try new techniques, and it has done both my son and I so much good! I feel more equipped and confident to try and help him now, and I see each one as an opportunity to observe him and learn more.”
Megan Paines, Cheshire
"I was struggling with my child having meltdowns at home after masking in school all day. These could be quite violent meltdowns and all the usual techniques weren't working. I learnt I need to put my oxygen mask on first! So, when the meltdowns are at their worst and I feel myself getting stressed by it, I need to find my calm, so I can help my child find theirs. I have a better understanding of meltdowns and have strategies to use to regulate my child before meltdown."
Charlotte, Manchester
“There was a lot of stress, shouting and upset. I was tired and at my wits end. I wanted to create harmony in the home and work out ways to help my children, whilst also learning ways to keep myself calm. I can happily say I achieved all these goals, plus more! I feel I’ve worked through a lot of underlying thoughts, feelings and beliefs I was holding onto. My feelings were validated, had meaning, I was heard and Kathryn really helped me work through them in a productive way.”
Lucy, Bury
"Kathryn was expert at introducing our group to new tools and theories to support us. All of these are incredibly accessible and useful to every area of life and I’m going to enjoy applying them more and more. I’ve stopped trying to multi-task (and be super mum) and am focusing on one thing at a time and doing that really well, which is noticeably impacting my relationships positively too."
Katie Cox, London
"Kathryn immediately makes you feel at ease and comfortable in the sessions. She facilitates conversations beautifully allowing participants to speak confidently in a non-judgmental and safe place. Kathryn is very perceptive and takes time to get to know all the participants so that she can support as best she can in achieving the goals and results that we want.”
Olivia, Lancashire
And it’s not just parents that have been benefitting, I also work with schools and teachers training them in the same tools. Here are some testimonials from teachers using the same approaches at school:
"This training has given me the victory of being able to communicate and see more clearly a child's unmet needs. I approach things differently, especially how I communicate when trying to engage a child that might not be ready learn. One child in particular has become more open. I feel they've made progress in being able to communicate with adults about how they're feeling, rather than being physical."
Sean, Primary Classroom Teacher
"This training has made me think deeper into why a child behaves the way they do. It's helped me to consider how they're feeling and what made them feel that way. This in turn has helped me show the children empathy and that all their feelings are safe with me, so they know I'm there for them and I understand. This means I've been able to build greater relationships and most importantly a secure attachment with them. I loved how tools were useful for both us as the adults, but also helped the children build their understanding of their triggers too. A very informative and research driven workshop."
Sarah Hambley, Director of Primary Learning
"I think that anyone dealing with any challenging behavior in children would benefit from this training. It has made me look again at how we as a school can meet the basic needs of the children. It has helped to focus staff on meeting the needs of the children and how the adult can change, rather than making the child change. The relationships between myself and some of the children have improved. As a result, I believe I now have more of an understanding of some of the children's challenges."
Paul Sanderson, Headteacher
"I feel this training has helped me learn a lot about the science behind children's behaviors. What’s more, it has affirmed my approach to children, by supporting them through their emotions and feelings to have a positive impact on their behavior. The children have responded really well to the tools, techniques and changes in the staff's response."
Amy Blackburn, Deputy CEO of a Multi-Academy Trust
